1904	Insurance as a science becomes a selective course in the examination regulations and the study
1919	Transition of the Commercial High School in the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University, Foundation of the Insurance Department
1929	Professor Moldenhauer becomes economics minister.
1930	PD Dr. Franz Helpenstein becomes the head of the department.
1939	Replacement of the head with Professor Dr. Walter Rohrbeck
1940	Establishment of the Insurance Institute
1945	Interruption of teaching
1946	Karl Hax cares of the Department of Insurance, and teaching.
1949	Professor Walter Rohrbeck becomes again the director of the Department of Insurance.
1957	Professor Paul Braeß takes the Institute of Insurance
1972	Professor Dieter Farny took the Institute of Insurance. The insurance business management is approved as a special teaching are.
1999	Professor Heinrich R. Schradin becomes the head of the Insurance Department.
2002	The Department is renamed the Department of Risk Management and Insurance.
